about

A 3-minute blast of unashamedly 90s influenced indie punk in the vein of The Pixies, Veruca Salt and Hole. The song explores the idea of domestication in humans (and animals) and the depression and limitation that comes with being forced to smother your wild side under a facade of normalisation and dull routine. We are all beasts after all.

Recored with Simon Ding Archer (Pixies, The Fall, PJ Harvey) and released on October 25th, You're Tame is the third single release of 2019 from The Empty Page.

lyrics

Suffocating underneath a stinking laundry pile
You're bound by your apron strings
Domestication is underestimation
Domestication shrinks your brain

You're Tame

Licked the butter from your paws now you cant find your way home
They keep you on a short leash
Domestication is domination
Domestication shrinks your brain

You're Tame

It's incarceration
They strangle, you shrivel and weaken and wither
Housebroken
Where are your teeth?

You're Tame
